Melissa Kruger currently serves on staff as Women’s Ministry Coordinator at Uptown Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. She enjoys writing Bible studies, as well as teaching women in her church and community. Her book was just released this spring. Melissa is married to Mike Kruger who also serves in ministry at Uptown Church. They have three children: Emma, John and Kate.

The topic for our retreat will be her book. Melissa will help us to understand how our desires for good things grow into covetousness. It is not just “things” we long for in this life—we long for relationships, giftedness, different seasons of life, security, approval and a host of items more than just our neighbor’s new coat! Our goal is not to live a life free of desires. The goal is to turn our desires to Jesus, hoping to find abundant life in Him alone.

We already have confirmation that our most important Guest will be at Roslyn for our retreat, October 12 – 14, 2012. We look forward to a weekend of worshipping our Father, fellowshipping with our sisters, and having a fun time! Kathryn Oprandy and Cathy Hankins invite you to welcome our guest speaker, Melissa Kruger, with many, many open arms. We also invite our sisters from Evergreen Community Church and Spring Run Presbyterian to join us.

2 per room, all inclusive (not including Friday dinner)

Friday check-in starts at 4:00 PM.
Dinner will be provided Friday night (separate fee)

Roslyn Retreat & Conference Center

The Retreat & Conference Center is located 11.5 miles from Sycamore Presbyterian Church.

Roslyn provides natural beauty and a peaceful atmosphere for this year’s retreat weekend, situated on 150 acres overlooking the James River. The center offers meeting rooms designed for rest, comfort and reflection and the new Bishop’s Chapel. You will find wooded walking trails, benches with scenic views and many quiet spots for prayer and meditation. In addition Roslyn has a small Fitness Center, open to all guests while in residence.

Left on Coalfield Road, 0.7 mi.
Right on US 60/ Midlothian Turnpike, 2.2 mi.
Left on VA 147/Huguenot Road, travel 5.2 mi.
Right on VA 150/Chippenham Pkwy (N) 2.7 mi.
Cross the Willey Bridge
Right at 1st traffic light (access road to River Rd)
Left onto River Road, 0.3 mi.
