Sycamore Presbyterian Church

Music Ministry

At Sycamore Presbyterian we strive to:

  • Worship the One True God through music with the leadership of vocalists, instrumentalists, and choir.
  • Provide training in musical literacy, appreciation, and vocal development, with the knowledge that singing is part of Christian discipleship.
  • Build friendships and camaraderie within groups and the congregation by musically enhancing the worship of God mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Our music program includes...

Newsong and Jubilee

These two groups make up Sycamore's exciting Childrens music ministry! Children 3 years old through 5th grade learn the basics of music through percussion, singing and games. This delightful eight-week program combines various elements of both the Orff Approach and traditional hand chimes technique. This program takes place on select Sundays from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.

From the Director of Music:

Music is phenomena created by God, discovered by man, and over the centuries cultivated into an art form of which the highest purpose is to bring glory to God. As the people of God, we believe that all Christians are called to participate in this eternal art by making melody in our hearts, from our voices, and with the aid of instruments. Singing is a matter of discipleship; as all are called to sing, then it is the privilege and duty of the church to teach all to sing. We hope you will find the resources here at Sycamore of great encouragement and spiritual benefit as we invite you to join us in singing God’s praise.

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
PRAISE THE LORD! - Psalm 150:6
