Youth Ministry
Sycamore's Youth Ministry is... A grace-drenched, Christ-dependent community that is being increasingly transformed by God's story in His Word and defined by God's mission in His world.
The Sycamore Philosophy of Youth Ministry is... Our goals are relatively simple, but can only be accomplished by God's grace working in and through us. First, we hope that our students will own their faith. This means that they will begin to see reality defined by God's story in His Word in such a way that everything they experience comes through that grid. Second, we hope that they will experience true community. This happens as students, leaders, and staff members care for one another, whether it's hard or easy, with the same love, grace, and patience that Jesus has shown to us. Third, we hope that they will be defined by God's mission. This involves loving everyone that they meet, serving their community, and seeking to reach a lost world with the gospel because God loved, served, and sought them when they were His enemies. This must all happen in an atmosphere of glorifying God, being utterly and completely dependent upon Him and His grace, and loving everyone who walks through our doors.
To this end, we meet regularly for Sunday School, Discipleship Groups, and our large youth group meeting (CREW for High School and Hang Time for Middle School). We also annually do a few retreats and a Summer missions trip.
