Youth Ministries

Sycamore’s Youth Ministry Exists to…

• Bring our students into a right relationship with God,
• Grow them up in mind, heart and will for Him
• Build a fellowship of believers where every student belongs
• Send them into the world to live for him in all things!

To these end, we meet regularly for Sunday school, Discipleship Groups and our large group youth meeting (CREW for the High School and Hang Time for the Middle School). We also annually do a few retreats and a summer missions trip.

Phil’s Philosophy:

"If you boil it all down, I consider our youth ministry effective if we do two things well. 1. Provide a fellowship where every student feels like they belong- or could belong if they wanted to be a part of the group. It is so important for the church to be a home for her children. Therefore youth group is about belonging and having a good time. But there is more to it than just good times. There’s a purpose. We are to… 2. Enable our kids to own the faith. We can’t change anybody’s heart through the coolest strategies, emotional appeals or the most stellar programs. That just sets the kids up for asking what the church can do for them. Rather, we are to let them come face to face with Jesus in the word and in us as leaders. They have to decide if they will follow Him or go their own way. The Gospel is beautiful. If we as leaders present it with clarity, God by His spirit will get his message across and bring His children to Him."
