A Letter from Pastor
Harry Long

Dear Friend:
Sycamore Presbyterian Church is a part of a growing Richmond community, and I
would like to share with you some of the things God has done and is doing to
make Sycamore a live and active fellowship.
We are committed both to the truth of Scripture and the need to love one
another. We desire to go deeper than pat answers and superficial
fellowship. We believe that God is very much at work in this world, and we
are excited about knowing Him and being a part of what He is doing.
The initial group which grew
into Sycamore began meeting in the summer of 1980 under the leadership
of Al Baker. After Al accepted a call from Perimeter Church in Atlanta,
my family and I came in June of 1982,and the church was organized as a
part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in May, 1984.
Please take a few minutes to look over the information in this
website to
see how the ministries of Sycamore may be of benefit to you and offer
opportunity for your to serve. I hope that you will find at Sycamore a caring church family in which you can grow
in your faith and commitment to Christ.
Harry Long
