Yes, your pledge is completely confidential, just like all general giving to the church. Neither the pastors nor the Campaign Committee will see your personal pledge information. Only the necessary finance and operations personnel who process other church contributions will have access to pledge details.
All pledges need to be fulfilled by December, 2028. To ensure we can cover the costs of construction while awaiting full pledge commitments to be fulfilled, we will likely need to assume a pledge loan. It would greatly benefit the church for committed funds to come in earlier, which would reduce the costs of financing and minimize the amount we need to borrow.
Commitments made in honor or memory of a loved one will include public recognition of the honoree’s name, as appropriate and as approved by the donor. However, to maintain confidentiality and align with our financial practices, the donor’s name and commitment amount will not be disclosed.
Yes! We have in place a dedicated account and process to be able to accept these types of commitments. We can provide additional information and speak with you upon request.
There is planned to be a reasonable mortgage acquired for the campaign. The amount is yet to be determined, but it will be closely evaluated to ensure that it is a modest and reasonable loan relative to the project and to our church’s finances. Since a loan can only happen through a congregational vote, all details will be transparently shared as these steps are planned.
Traditionally, a mortgage of this type would be 20 to 25 years. However, churches of our demographic and size–especially those who limit the amount of debt through generosity in the final phase of the campaign–have been able to address and eliminate debt in much shorter time tables, such as in 5 to 10 years.
Our building Committee is working with our construction partners to diligently manage the trajectory of costs. An industry-standard contingency has been built into the budget to account for unexpected costs. However, if project costs rise significantly at the time of bidding, we will consider adjusting the scope by deferring smaller projects to a later time in order to maintain costs within our budget.
As with any construction, there will be some level of unavoidable disruption as this work is done. However, we are working very hard with our partners to phase and segment activity to minimize this as much as possible.
